All Together Now:
On the third day of Christmas my true self gave to me:
Three fountain pens
Two moments of wonder
And a positive affirmation to start my day
Directions (no batteries required):
Every morning I do "Morning Pages."1 It usually takes me about 30 minutes, and it's 3 full pages of a brain dump. Every inconsequential thought that pops up in my somewhat scattered brain —gets written down. Once it's down on the page, it rarely surfaces again. If it does surface, it generally means I need to look at it more.
Is this something I must do to get it out of my mind?
Or is it a recurring issue that I'm trying to ignore?
If it's recurring, like a rock in my shoe, I stop. Metaphorically speaking, I take the rock out of my shoe and look at it. On paper. In my morning pages.
Frequently, I find annoying little things that I need to address. Occasionally, I find issues that I really need to take out and carefully review. That's what healing and growth is all about for me.
I write by hand, with a pen and paper. Actually, a fountain pen. 2I love how the ink flows. I also enjoy the ritual of refilling the ink or changing the cartridges. If I'm going to do something every single day, I might as well enjoy every aspect of it.
Hence, 3 fountain pens.
Plus, it fits nicely in the original Christmas Carol of "3 French Hens"3
Morning pages, with a nice pen. Give it a try to help settle your mind and treat yourself on this 3rd day of Christmas.

I understand not all celebrate Christmas, or even believe in God. However, for the sake of simple communication, I ask for your understanding of my play on a well known Christmas Carol to give you 12 days of humorous prompts to support you through this holiday season.
Love the fountain pen!
