“Today is a great day.”

All together now:
On the first day of Christmas1 my true self gave to me
A positive affirmation to start the day
Directions (no batteries required):
First thing in the morning, I say out-loud: "Today is a great day"
Somehow saying my affirmations out loud, wakes up up my lulling brain and reminds me that I'm alive and I start looking to make my statement right. I like to be right, I guess.
Seriously, saying this little statement out loud has helped me. I have no idea of the neuroscience behind it, this simply works for me. If that positive affirmation doesn't fit, try something different.2 The key is, keep in short. Say it out-loud to drown out the negative chatter that might be brewing in the back of your mind.
I understand not all celebrate Christmas, or even believe in God. However, for the sake of simple communication, I ask for your understanding of my play on a well known Christmas Carol to give you 12 days of humorous prompts to support you through this holiday season.
