For Christmas, Henry and I got a box of yummy treats. Our human mummy got a box of dipping cookies. Last week, she made a cup of hot cocoa. She put a couple of her dipping cookies on the plate holding her hot cocoa.
She snuggled into a warm blanket, grabbed her book and started reading. Before she started reading, she gave Henry and I one of our yummy doggie treats. Since Henry is bigger, I jumped on our human mummy’s lap so I could munch on my cookie without Henry trying to get it.
My human mummy, April, was busy reading, sipping her hot cocoa, dipping her cookies and occasionally pet my ears.
I only got about half way through my cookie. To keep the rest of my cookie safe, I put it on the plate with our mummy’s cookies. Then, I started taking a little nap.
A few minutes after I fell asleep, my human mummy jumped up and started gagging and spitting. She ran into the bathroom and spit up MY cookie. Yes, she put my cookie in her hot cocoa and then in her mouth! After she came back to the couch, she blamed me for it. What?
I know humans are limited in their olfactory capacities and hence couldn’t smell my yummy treat, but why was she blaming me for her limitations? I think she was projecting.1
Our treats are yummy! For her to make such a dramatic beeline2 for the bathroom was a bit much. I’ll forgive her, because I always do, but she’s lucky that we’re3 so understanding of her inferior taste buds and over reacting projections.
Yes, I’ve heard her use that term. Projection means that someone has the problem, but they think others have it.
I have seen actual bees move back to their hive slower than our human ran to the bathroom.
