Happy August
August 17--One year anniversary of Substack!
I love August, it’s still summer and when the calendar flips to August, it reminds me to get all the summer fun in while I can! I hope you feel that way too.1
August 17 is also the ONE year anniversary I’ve been on Substack. I started this to help with the launch of the re-release of Paperdolls & Cowboy Boots. To my delight it’s become a support and community for so many also.
I realize that I have the privacy setting on here set fairly tight, to protect any survivors who want to reach out. I’ve had a couple of requests from other survivors to open this up a bit, so that others on my substack can communicate directly with one another. Currently we are exploring options to make that happen for you—without compromising anyone’s privacy and safety. Please watch for follow-up announcements in that regard.
Next, for the actual anniversary date, we will be announcing some enhancements and giveaways to celebrate one year on here! As I mentioned, when I first started this substack, I never realized this would turn into something important for survivors.

If you don’t, it’s okay, just know that in time the seasons will change. My lay hack on down times is that I remind myself, in time, emotions/situations will change. In some ways, it’s like the weather. Just be patient. Things will change.
