"you hafta ask to help but if they say yes it's fun."
A heartfelt note from one of our subscribers
I received this note last week and am delighted to share with you:
Thank you for the email, "I am the one who is grateful." I have a daughter and a son, ages 7 and 10. I read your email to them. They both listened and asked questions. We had a conversation about helping others and how important it is to ask if you can help another. My son said, "Yeah, sometimes I like to do things myself and I get mad when you do it for me."
On a recent trip to the grocery store, we were at the self check-out. I was busy scanning and I heard my daughter ask the man next to us if she could help him put his grocery's in his cart. The man chuckled and said, "Of course young lady!" She was thrilled.
Later, I heard my son and daughter talking about how ‘you hafta ask to help but if they say yes it's fun.’”
