Dear Kind Neighbor,
We aren’t really friends, I daresay not even acquaintances. I pass by your home when I walk the dogs. When you are out on your porch, you always smile and wave. Sometimes you walk down your sidewalk and give the boys’ a pet.
I barely know your name, I doubt you know mine. But, you remember my dogs’s names. Which they LOVE.
This has been our pattern for years.
A couple of weeks, I saw the “For Sale” sign in front of your home. I’ll miss you. I’ll miss your consistent smile. I’ll miss your gentle voice. And, I’ll miss your kindness.
Other neighbors have commented to me that you are quite reserved and are probably unaware how much everyone appreciates your smile and quiet kindness. I want you to know that for all these years, I’ve noticed. And, have always felt lighter after my brief and consistent interactions with you.
You will me missed.
