Last fall, I was invited to the initial screening of Sweepstakes Film. It’s captivating film that will bring you in, hold you, entertain and educate you. Because of it's success, they are continuing expanding it to be a feature film. They start filming in June. I can’t wait.
When I first started the series on Sales Techniques, it was my good faith effort to educate everyone on how to recognize if they are being manipulated. All of us are vulnerable.
All of us are vulnerable.
There’s a natural tie to sexual abuse and manipulation. Both for the victim, and the family members surrounding the victim. Most in the circle of influence of a victim are manipulated.
Of course, there is a different perspective with these techniques. These same techniques can motivate and inspire. “Sales Techniques” can help someone make a sales purchase, overcome fear, even take steps to increase one’s mental well-being. Many teachers, coaches and leaders use these techniques to motivate their team to achieve greater heights or take action.
Unfortunately, besides sexual predators, these techniques are used for other nefarious means. With the advent of more technological advancements, we have more venues for nefarious souls to contact us and manipulate us.
Last fall, I was fortunate enough to be invited to the initial screening of “Sweepstakes.” It’s a captivating, entertaining, and educational film about scams targeting the elderly.
I’m grateful to be able to call the writer and the director of the film, Stephen Williams, a friend. I’m also close with the extraordinary actor, Anne Cullimore Decker.
After the screening, the cast answered questions. Anne Cullimore Decker relayed a conversation she had with her son that went something like this: “Mom, you are turning down a part with Kevin Costner to work with Steve Williams?”
Anne responded, “Yes, it’s that good.”
I agree. It is that good.
ABC4.com, Good Morning Utah, recently aired an interview with Stephen Williams and Anne Cullimore Decker, you can watch it here:
