The esteemed Dr. Whitehead worked with compassion and professional aptitude to help support, heal, and guide three of my co-author’s grandchildren. In 1992, when the book was first published he courageously verified the accuracy of the accounts of those children.
Carol asked Dr. Whitehead to write a professional therapueutic commentary for the first edition. His remarkable career and contributions to help children of sexual abuse are still so significant we decided to keep Dr. Whitehead’s testimonial at the beginning of Paperdolls & Cowboy Boots. I am very grateful to find this on your site. I have been mourning Dr. Whitehead's passing with unexpected intensity. I didn't understand how I still somehow counted on his support and help I guess, because I am bereft. I have cried and cried. He was an excellent doctor, and a truly kind man. He changed the course of our lives completely. There aren't many people who understand how deeply I feel about him, it touched me so to realize that you get it. Thank you.
