April Daniel's released the book, Paperdolls & Cowboy Boots: The Original Paperdolls: Healing from Sexual Abuse in Mormon Neighborhoods and the True Events of the Subsequent Decades.

Salt Lake City Utah— January 11, 2024 — Yesterday, April Daniel's released the book, Paperdolls & Cowboy Boots: The Original Paperdolls: Healing from Sexual Abuse in Mormon Neighborhoods and the True Events of the Subsequent Decades. The book has been available to survivors, therapists and therapy agencies via April’s substack site, Paperdolls.Today since the beginning of the year. Yesterday, April made it available to the general public and all local bookstores via Amazon’s KDP and IngrahamSparks distributors.
On a beautiful spring day in April 1992, co-authors April Daniels and Carol Scott appeared on the local television station, KTVX Channel 4 News. Randall Carlise and Kimberly Perkins announced that shock waves were reverberating through-out the Salt Lake Valley as the new book, Paperdolls, Healing from Sexual Abuse in Mormon Neighborhoods was initially released.
Some thought the local news report was sensationalized. None realized the staying power of the book and its truth. In the subsequent years, even the authors were stunned when 3 of the worst perpetrators named in the book continued to commit repulsive and abhorrent crimes. Those crimes are well known and have been widely reported: kidnappings, rapes, suicides, and murder.
Of significance, in 2002, young Kacie Woody was tragically murdered. Sadly the adult male who slaughtered Kacie, was one of April's teenage perpetrators. That same year, it was discovered that another of April's teenage culprits abducted and inflicted unthinkable pain on young Elizabeth Smart.
The original release of Paperdolls in 1992 was a shocking story of betrayal, pain, and the unending resilience of the human soul. The 2024 Release of Paperdolls & Cowboy Boots contains the original book and the true events of the subsequent decades—with stunning tragedies and tales of surprising forgiveness and hope.
