It’s winter. Our rose bushes are dormant. They still have thorns.
Physically, I’m little. About a tenth of Henry’s size.
We were running around in the backyard and I ran into one of the thorns. It really hurt. I cried. Our human mummy ran out and took the thorn out of my paw. She said I was as brave as a lion.
Yesterday, I was lounging in the sunshine and I noticed Henry tugging at the rose bush that hurt me. He ripped out several canes. I won’t run into them anymore! I was so relieved. What a nice guy.
However, our human mummy was not happy. I tried to explain that Henry was just helping. I ran up to her, sat on her lap and kissed her nose. She didn’t understand. Now, Henry feels bad. He only feels bad for about 5 minutes and then he forgets about it. I hope our human mummy forgives him as fast.
We’ve already forgiven her for not understanding.
I’m so relieved that the thorns are gone! Sometimes things that hurt us need to be removed.
