"...help one fainting Robin Unto his Nest again..."
The pre-production meeting for the upcoming podcast with April Daniels and David Hardy
Olaf here: Yesterday, we had a small get together with humans in our backyard. David Hardy came over to review the outline for the podcast he's doing with our human mummy, April Daniels.
Then, we had an artist and a professional production person from Hollywood join the conversation.
I was sitting on David Hardy's lap getting my ears scratched. Henry was sniffing around the yard. Suddenly, a tiny bird flew by the table. Henry was in hot pursuit. The bird tried to fly up over the fence and accidentally hit it. The poor bird fell down to the ground.
Immediately, the artist and our human mummy jumped up! Our mummy grabbed Henry and held him. The artist gently picked up the tiny bird. I watched intently. Henry still doesn't understand the nature of love. Especially our love for the song birds. He thinks that because our human puts out bird seed, she wants to capture them. An obvious declaration:
Our mummy loves birds. She puts out the bird seed to attract them. Enjoy their songs. And, she delights in their freedom and their flight.
Henry is still a puppy. He hasn't grasp the concept that loving means enjoyment and freedom. He doesn't know that capturing and dominating ends the beauty. He will learn.
After the artist held the tiny bird, our mummy and the artist took the tiny bird to the front yard. They placed it on a high branch. They weren't sure if the tiny bird would survive. Was it stunned? Or fatally wounded by hitting the fence?
The artist and our mummy, April, let the little bird be. A few minutes later, our mummy checked the bird, and watched it fly away.
It reminded me of our mummy's book. The one she co-authored, Carol Scott, Paperdolls & Cowboy Boots, there's a quote by Emily Dickinson:
If I can stop one Heart from breaking
If I can stop one Heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain
If I can ease one Life the Aching,
Or cool one Pain,Or help one fainting Robin
Unto his Nest again,I shall not live in vain.
When I heard the the little song bird survived and flew away: My tail thumped! Everyone at the table cheered. 1
David Hardy and the Producer continued their planning. They talked about big stuff like, outlines, timing, story boards and statues.2
They decided on the location and schedules. It's going to be soon.
In the mean time, please know, that our human is always committed to saving lives. To the song bird. To all survivors. While David and the movie producer have broader and bigger perspectives. Both are invaluable. Both are important.
Survivors can be free. Fly! Happy Independence day.

(the wise one)
Henry is trying to understand. He'll get it. But, it might take a little time. Everyone can learn.
I think David said statues. We don't have any garden statues. We have two bird baths. My human mummy (April) said it’s "statutes" which is some big legal word that David will talk about in the podcast.
