My close friends love animals.1 One of my dear friends, Robynn2 and her husband Joe, recently rescued two adult female dogs. Here is the story:
The two females were discarded on the side of a road, in Idaho. They were both pregnant and ready to give birth.
A wonderful organization called Aska’s Animal Foundation picked up the soon to be mamas, helped whelp the puppies, then a couple of months later, they spayed the mothers. Robynn and Joe drove to Idaho, and brought their girls home.
Things were going along great: I got pictures of the girls romping in the hills near Salt Lake and racing around Round Valley near Park City.
Then, amazingly, a local pet store where Robynn and Joe frequent found out that another customer had adopted a puppy from Idaho. The new puppy’s story was well known. The puppy’s mother was pregnant, abandoned on the side of the road….in Idaho.
Yes! The new puppy, was adopted and living in the same neighborhood as her newly adopted Mama!
From Idaho with LOVE!
A reunion at a local park was quickly arranged. Here is Mama Calamity Jane and one of her puppies! Reunited, safe, loved and playing right here in Salt Lake City, Utah:
I really think the puppy is smiling. Happily ever after! I asked Robynn if I could share this story on the “Puppy Love” section here, and she said, “Yes, share the love!”
People can be good. Most are. Remember that, always.

There is a tie between animal abusers and child abusers. I hadn’t really thought about it until now, but I guess one must have a heart open enough to love animals to be in my closest circle.
Robynn and I have been friends for a long time. She even endorsed the book.
What a sweet story. I needed this today- thank you
Nothing feels better than rescued huskies.
