I try as much as possible to focus on the healing aspects for as Nietzsche famously said, "He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And if you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you."
More importantly, yes to dealing with your abuse, that's when I did also. My therapist at time time told me, "You dealt with it, when you were safe enough and your psyche could handle it." I understand that now, but sheesh, while I was in the throes of the crises stage, I wasn't sure I was strong enough.
This is such a powerful tribute and reminder. Silence is the greatest enemy of the truth. Thank you, April, for being that voice.
